The Company and Role Overview:
A leading specialist in the management, analysis and presentation of complex international transport data for Governments and corporate users. Established in 2005 to provide transport information and data visualisation services on-line.
The Person & Duties:
To create and deliver a compelling commercial vision for our company's leading edge technical capability that will enable us to realise significant value in providing web based services for transport professionals on a global basis.

You will also be responsible for the operational sales and marketing functions and including line management responsibility for a small team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create a compelling commercial vision that clearly articulates the business opportunity to key stakeholders, investors and prospective customers.
- Identify and quantify market opportunities where we can exploit our technical capability to realise significant value.
- Translate the commercial vision into innovative commercial product propositions and pricing models that exploit the available technical capability.
- Develop a complimentary set of sales channels for our products that use a mix of online/offline, direct/indirect and 3rd party relationships to access target customers in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
- Provide a commercial framework that will guide future technology developments and build relationships with key customer groups that will generate interest and sales leads for our product portfolio.
- Lead negotiations with third parties such as distributors, partners and customers.
- Lead a small team of professionals who will be responsible for:
# delivering a sales plan that will deliver profitable revenue growth for our product portfolio the agreed sales channels
# executing a marketing plan that will promote the company’s vision and products, raising market awareness and understanding and underpinning the sales plan
Skills Required:
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 7 years industry commercial experience some of which will have been at a senior level engaging with customer decision makers, presenting to and influencing board members.
Experience of working in a start-up or fast growing SME
environment

DESIRABLE:

Operational experience of leading a sales, marketing or business development function
